==== Setting Instructor Hours ====

To change the hours of lesson availability for an instructor, view the instructor page by clicking "Setup" from the program's opening screen, then clicking on the instructor's name.  You can also get to this page by clicking the blue H next to the instructor's name on the [[lesson sheet]].

The right side of the page lists all available times for the instructor. To make changes, complete the “Change Working Hours” form above the list. 

== Instructor is working/not working during this time: ==
To add availability, choose "working". To remove availability, choose "not working". Choose "No instructors working" to remove availability for all instructors. This is useful for holidays and other closed times.  Choose "all active instructors working" to set the hours for all active instructors.

== Days of the Week ==
Check all days of the week that this entry applies to.

== Start Time and End Time ==
Enter the time of day that starts and ends the period of availability. Use hour:min am/pm format. For example, if the instructor begins work at 8:00am and ends at noon, enter 8:00am and 12:00pm, respectively.

== Start Date and End Date ==
If the Start Date and End Date are left blank, the specified hours will be available forever. If either or both dates are entered, the specified availability (or lack of availability) will be limited to the dates entered. This is useful for a day off or a permanent change in working hours.

Whenever two hours rules conflict, the most recently entered one takes precedence.  For example, if you had a old record saying the instructor works 1:00pm to 10:00pm on Thursdays, then you added a new record saying he does not work 12:00pm to 4:00pm Thursdays, his new Thursday hours on the [[lesson sheet]] would be 4:00pm to 10:00pm.

After entering each hours rule, press Save to make the changes.  The record will appear in the list of Working Hours, and you will be ready to add another rule.

=== Showing Expired Hours ===
Hours rules that have an End Date that has already passed are considered expired, and are hidden by default.  If you need to see these, click the "Show expired hours settings" link beneath the Working Hours table.  Now you can see expired hours.  Click the "Hide expired hours settings" to hide them again.
